Today we are reviewing another biotin supplement this time from the company GNC. This review is for GNC Biotin 5000mcg. This is a dietary supplement that the company claims will support healthy hair, nails, and skin. The website offers very little information about the target audience, purpose and benefits of this supplement.

Ingredients

This supplement contains 5,000 mcg of biotin which is meant to support health hair, nails, and skin. The capsules also contain pork gelatin and cellulose and are therefore not suitable for vegetarians or vegans. It is certified free from gluten, dairy, eggs, peanuts, fish, soy, shellfish, wheat, yeast, fillers, binders, preservatives, artificial ingredients, or magnesium stearate. It does contain tree nuts.

Dosage

Take one pill daily with a meal. You should consult with your doctor before using this product if you are pregnant, nursing, taking any medications, or have any known medical conditions. Definitely don’t exceed the recommended daily dose.

Possible Side Effects

There are no side effects listed on the label nor on the company website. Biotin is known to be a safe, non-toxic vitamin and has not been associated with any serious side effects, even in large doses.

Price

On the GNC website, a bottle of GNC Biotin pills costs $37.99 for 240 pills. When taking one pill per day a single bottle should last you six months making it a well priced product (presuming it works for you). If you subscribe to a recurring shipment you can get free delivery and receive a 10% discount from your first order.

Guarantee

GNC offers a 30 day return policy from the date of order for a full refund of the purchase price, minus the shipping, handling, gift wrap, or other charges. The item must be returned, unused or used, in good condition, in original boxes (whenever possible), and with all paperwork and accessories to ensure full credit.

Conclusion of Our GNC Biotin 5000mcg Review

Among the positive things that we liked about GNC Biotin are the fact that it is certified free from gluten, dairy, eggs, peanuts, fish, soy, shellfish, wheat, yeast, fillers, binders, preservatives, artificial ingredients, or magnesium stearate. Each bottle is very good value at $37.99 (plus shipping) because it contains 240 pills – enough for 6 months if taking one pill per day. GNC offers a 30 day money back guarantee that included opened bottles too. We did have some less positive comments too. The product is mostly all natural but marred by the fact that it contains pork gelatin which is a pity because it means that the supplement is not suitable for vegetarians and vegans. This supplement only contains 5,000 mcg of biotin. This is a low amount of biotin when compared to its competitors who offer twice that amount. We question the effectiveness of this supplement at this level of biotin. There is free shipping but only if you spend $49 which requires you to buy more than bottle. The return policy is only good for 30 days which is too short in our opinion. The full refund on the returns is not so full because it excludes the cost of shipping, handling, gift wrap, and other unspecified charges. The reviews on the GNC website looked suspicious because there were only eight reviews in total, and they were all 5 star reviews. When we read reviews on Amazon, we saw that many people reported no measurable changes or benefits after taking these pills. We recommend you look for a higher dose of biotin supplement with a more reliable and longer return policy just in case the product is not a good match for you.
